Audi has a vision for 2025 where one in three of its vehicles sold are electrified. To help proliferate its push toward this greener future, Audi debuted four plug-in hybrids at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
Plug-in hybrid variants of the Audi A6, A7, A8, and Q5 all made their public debut in Geneva this month. These PHEVs join the Audi A3 e-tron® and Audi Q7 e-tron®, which are coming back for 2019 with improved technology. Upon these vehicles’ arrival, Audi will boast not just the most luxurious lineup in the industry, but one of the most efficient.
“In the future, virtually every market segment will include models powered by a combination of an electric motor and a combustion engine and that can be charged at an electric outlet,” said Chairman of the Audi Board of Management Bram Schot.
We’re already eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Audi e-tron®, which will be hitting the Gossett Audi showroom very soon, and the Audi e-tron® Sportback, which should be arriving later this year. Down the line a bit in 2020, we can look forward to the arrival of the Audi e-tron® GT and Audi Q4 e-tron®, both of which affirm Audi’s belief that you can drive an efficient vehicle and look incredible doing it.
